(Sports Network) - Southpaw Randy Wolf makes the 200th appearance of his big- league career tonight when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first of three games at Dodger Stadium.
Wolf, a product of Pepperdine University and a native of Canoga Park, California, is in his first year with the Los Angeles Dodgers after spending his first eight seasons with Philadelphia. His best season with the Phillies came in 2003, when he was 16-10.
Injuries limited him to just 48 starts over the past three seasons before he headed west to Los Angeles, where he's lasted six innings in five straight starts and has seen the Los Angeles Dodgers score 36 runs for him.
An April 25 outing against San Francisco ended Wolf's three-start win streak, when he allowed six runs and five hits in a 6-4 loss. Previously, he'd defeated San Francisco, San Diego and Pittsburgh since opening 2007 with a loss at Milwaukee.
Lifetime against Arizona, Wolf is 4-1 in eight starts with a 3.50 earned run average.
Reigning Cy Young Award winner Brandon Webb goes for the Diamondbacks seeking a third straight effective start.
The right-hander has gotten a no-decision in each of his last two outings, during which he's allowed just 13 hits and three earned runs over 16 innings. Arizona has won both games, defeating San Diego by 5-2 and 3-2 counts.
Webb, who was 16-8 with a 3.10 ERA last season, has allowed 36 hits and 14 earned runs in 35 innings. Lifetime against Los Angeles, he is 5-3 in 10 starts with a 3.62 ERA.
On Sunday in San Diego, Brady Clark's go-ahead double in the top of the 17th inning lifted the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Padres, 5-4.
Wilson Valdez reached on an error by first baseman Pete LaForest to start the one-out rally off Justin Hampson (0-1), and after Russell Martin popped out to short, Clark ripped a line drive to left that eluded outfielder Jose Cruz Jr. Ramon Martinez lined out to third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff to end the inning, with the Los Angeles Dodgers holding a 5-4 lead.
Chad Billingsley (2-0) blew a high fastball by Kouzmanoff to end the four- hour, 55-minute contest in the bottom of the 17th.
In Arizona, Orlando Hudson doubled home the eventual winning run in the seventh inning for the Diamondbacks, who completed a three-game sweep of the San Francisco Giants with a 5-4 win.
Chris Young, Stephen Drew, Hudson, Chad Tracy and Carlos Quentin each posted a pair of hits for Arizona. Randy Johnson allowed three runs - two earned - on seven hits with five strikeouts and a walk in six innings.
Pinch-hitter Miguel Montero, Young and Drew each singled with one out, and Hudson grounded a two-run double into left field on a 1-1 pitch in the seventh.
Brandon Medders (1-0) got the victory for the Diamondbacks.
The Los Angeles Dodgers swept a brief two-game set against the Diamondbacks in Arizona earlier in the season, and have won six of the last seven matchups overall. Los Angeles won seven of nine at home in the series last year.
