Season tickets go on sale Friday for what likely is the Los Angeles Dodgers' last spring training in Vero Beach.
Cost for season tickets, which include admission to all 10 home games, is $170. The $58 mini-plan pack for the three games March 9, 11 and 12 will go on sale 10 a.m. Jan. 4, and individual tickets — priced at $10 for berm seats on weekends and sellout days, $18 for weekday games and $20 for night, weekend and premium games — go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 2.
Craig Callan, Los Angeles Dodgers vice president of spring training and minor league facilities, is expecting a busy spring at Dodgertown.
"I would hope that attendance would be high since it will most likely be our last spring training in Vero Beach, the last chance for the fans to see the Los Angeles Dodgers here," Callan said.
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their tentative schedule Monday. The team will play a shortened season for their 61st spring in Vero Beach, as Major League Baseball is considering it for a two-game series in Beijing, China, March 15-16. The Los Angeles Dodgers would play against the San Diego Padres overseas and also field a split-squad team in Florida until March 18.
The full team will reunite in Phoenix, Ariz., to finish the spring in the Cactus League, where the Los Angeles Dodgers likely will remain for spring training on a permanent basis starting in 2009, if their new facility in Glendale, Ariz., is completed in time.
Callan said the Los Angeles Dodgers are talking internally about having a celebration at one of the games this spring to commemorate the team's final spring training in Vero Beach.
"I hope it's an exciting spring for everyone in Vero Beach," Callan said. "Our schedule is a good schedule with good teams, and I anticipate a lot of our what we call 40-man roster players playing as much as they have in the past, if not more."
The Los Angeles Dodgers begin spring training at home against the Atlanta Braves on Feb. 28. Other games scheduled for Holman Stadium are March 2 against the New York Mets, March 3 against the Baltimore Orioles, March 7 against the St. Louis Cardinals, March 9 against the Boston Red Sox, March 11 against the Florida Marlins, March 12 against the Washington Nationals, March 14 against the St. Louis Cardinals, March 15 against the Florida Marlins and March 17 against the Houston Astros, which is a "premium game" for St. Patrick's Day.
Game times currently are listed as 1:05 p.m. starts, but the Los Angeles Dodgers are planning on having some night games.
