Manny Ramirez is day to day after being hit by a pitch in the Los Angeles Dodgers' game against the Cincinnati Reds.
A team spokesman says Ramirez has been hit on the side of his left hand by a pitch from Homer Bailey leading off the third inning Tuesday night. He was replaced by pinch runner Juan Pierre.
Ramirez went to a hospital for precautionary X-rays, which were negative.
He made a running catch to end the second and his triple in the first scored two runs to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a 2-0 lead.
It's the second time this season that Ramirez has been hit by a pitch. The first came May 4 against Arizona. He homered in the first inning and was hit three plate appearances later, but stayed in the game.
